Mother´s Choice Day Care Center
Mother´s Day Care Center is located in the suburb of Accra, the capital city of Ghana.
The center started in the year 2005 by Miss Lamptey Vida, with aim to take care of kids in the neighborhood, kids whose parents go to work during the day.
The center provides good care, and is affordable. There are 20 kids, age 6 months to 5 years.
The day in the center starts early morning, (7 am.) There are two baby sitters who help Miss Lamptey to look after the kids, and organize learning activities. The kids stay until their parents come to take them home in the late afternoon (around 6 PM).
The center is opened to anyone (especially ladies) with the desire to work with kids.
Duties include:
- Play with kids.
- Organize learning activities:
craft, games, fine arts, English reading and writing
- Changing clothes, etc.
Volunteers are welcome to work in the center; apply here
Volunteer accomodation:
Volunteers will stay in Miss lamptey´s house, 100 m away from the center.
To cover accommodation and food expenses, volunteers contribute 300 USD and stay as long as they wish, to help in the center.
