Mount Hermon  Mount Hermon was founded by Mr. James Ofosu Adarkwah in January 2000, at Tanoso a suburb of Kumasi the capital city of Ashanti region of Ghana, with the aim of taking care of kids whose parents go to work during the day and helping to improve the standard of education in the neighborhood. Currently the school has a population of 250 students, age 2 to 15years. Class range is between crèche to JHS, with 15 teaching staff The school provides good care and teaching and is affordable. The school starts early morning, (7 am to 3pm.) Volunteer opportunity / duties: The school is looking for interested volunteers of either gender with the desire to work with kids to take on the role of classroom assistance or as a teacher, covering the following areas; English, Maths and computer studies, play with kids, organize learning activities, craft, games, fine arts, changing clothes, etc. To volunteer apply here Volunteer accommodation & Food: Volunteers will stay in a secured self contain house, 100m away from the center. To cover accommodation and food expenses, volunteers contribute 300 USD and stay as long as they wish. |
